Golf Tips, Lessons, Instruction & Drills – The Grip (new)
BPS golf instructor Steve Bishop discusses how to put your hands on the club properly to form a neutral golf grip. This grip video is different from his first. He goes into more detail about the function of the grip and some finer points not usually discussed. www.golfinstruction.biz

You’re a fantastic golf instructor and student of the game.
It’s great to see someone who’s so passionate about the swing that he’s willing to spend time to actually think things through in a rational manner, rather than regurgitate the common teachings of the time.
I look forward to more videos from you and insights on the swing.

Steve,
Last time I checked you are backwards. In your video you have your hands in your “hook position” which actually promotes a fade by not allowing the hands and arms to rotate at impact to square or slightly closed. Same with “your fade” grip, this grip promotes a hook! If you do have the grip to strong you may push the ball, but your fade grip definitely promotes a hook. I mean last time I read the PGA Teaching Manual it did.

I’m a confused beginner lady golfer. I use the interlocking grip and I know I feel stronger with my right arm controlling my action in hitting the golf ball. Should I convert to the overlapping grip and think more along the lines of swinging the golf club to hit the ball?

Thanks Steve. Good explanation on what the V does. That is to confused most players.
Like your idea that the left thumb is meant to provide support at the top and keeps it square.
